After a 15-year career in professional hockey where he was a three-time NHL All-Star and Stanley Cup Champion for the New York Rangers, Mike Richter shifted his focus from saving goals to saving the planet.
He went on to receive his degree in Ethics, Politics and Economics with a concentration in Environmental Politics from Yale University.
He then went on to co-found Environmental Capital Partners, a $100 million Private Equity Fund focused on resource efficiency.
He also created Healthy Planet Partners, LLC a fund to finance and manage the deployment of renewable energy technologies and energy saving retrofits in the C&I space to reduce their operating costs and ecological footprint.
He is currently the President of Brightcore Energy a company that's on a mission to overhaul outdated and inefficient lighting in the commercial arena and is joined in this interview by one of his partners Rob Krugel. The two of them also lead a sister company called BFranklin that focuses on making lighting your home as easy as screwing in a light bulb.
Mike and Rob sit down with Lou Diamond to share with us their company's mission, focus and goal of helping to do what is necessary for our world.
